Ninecompanions.net, a very popular Lord of the Rings site, was the first LOTR site I ever found that had a humor section on it. You'll notice many of the early captioned pictures in our spoof gallery are from Ninecompanions. In May of 2003 the owners stopped updating the site, but still it lived on. However sadly, it has recently come to my attention that the site has vanished from the internet.
So, in the interest of preserving good humor, I present here, all I could salvage of the humor section. Many apologies for missing parts that didn't make it, or for pictures that don't show up. They only show where I was unable to find parts of the website. Where there are holes I endeavored to fill them with what I remembered being there, but of course there are bits that are irretrievable short of the Ninecompanions webmasters coming back and handing them to me.

Oh, The Horror! by Katie
As you may have noticed, this is a slash-free website, and that's just the way we are going to keep it. Why? Because slash is sick, wrong, and unnatural. Tolkien would have been horrified to know that people are writing stuff like that about his beloved characters. We hear you, Katie!
You know you're a Lord of the Rings freak when... By Pippin Brook, Thinlomiel, and Samwise

An amusing contribution by Kirin. It begs the question...which is better - short or tall? Those of us who are short know the answer to that one.

The Council of Elrond - Uncut by Orangeblossom

The Figwit Files by Orangeblossom
Figwit is one of the most amusing extras ever to appear in a movie. It's amazing how popular he has become, and he didn't even have a line! Here's a little collection of Figwit pictures (which are humorous in themselves) with some commentary.
Legolas and Gimli: A Comparison and Contrast by Gildor
This is an essay Gildor wrote for her English class. The assignment was to compare and contrast two people, so, of course, she used Lord of the Rings characters (as you will see, she is quite partial to Legolas). It turned out to be a very funny paper, so we put decided to add it to this section. She better get an A+ for this one!
